Summary: 

The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Assistant serves as an instructional assistant to assigned classrooms or service locations under the direction of the program administration and the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. The teaching assistant supports the daily instructional, behavioral, social/emotional, and adaptive/functional needs of preschool aged students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and program requirements.

 

Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:

• Under the direction of the Early Childhood Special Education teacher, work directly with students to facilitate instructional programming in a variety of settings.
• Under the direction of the Early Childhood Special Education teacher, work directly with students to support behavioral, social/emotional, and adaptive/functional needs. 
• Collaborate with Early Childhood Special Education and school staff to meet the needs of qualifying students with disabilities and program specific goals. 
• Participate in a variety of activities to support program operations including, but not limited to, meetings, professional development, and family engagement activities.
• Abide by State statutes, School Board policies and regulations.
• Other duties, as assigned, through the immediate supervisor.

 Qualifications: 

Have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and meet one of the following options:

• Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 credit hours); or
• Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or
• Have passed the Parapro Assessment through ETS.

Proof of highly qualified certification must be attached to your application to be

considered for this position.

 

Salary:   

Range for 2026-2027 is $19.57 to $30.14 per hour plus full benefits package.

Full time/10 month (183 days) position, 7 hours per day
