SUMMARY:

 

 

Winchester Public Schools seeks an innovative, dynamic, visionary and inclusionary leader to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Schools. As a trusted partner to and designee for the Superintendent, the chosen candidate will assist the Superintendent in the general administration of this evolving school division. The Assistant Superintendent provides executive leadership for all aspects of curriculum, instruction, student services and special education. The Assistant Superintendent also evaluates and provides executive coaching to school principals.

 

The Assistant Superintendent should possess a firm understanding of instructional practices, theories of learning and learner development, school and district leadership including state and federal policies and laws, and an innate curiosity and drive for continuous improvement.

 

Doctorate and superintendent license preferred.

Duties performed typically in settings to include: Central/City office and schools/departments throughout the division/city. Job is primarily sedentary work. Occasional walking, stooping, standing, squatting, lifting, up to approximately 30 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required. Other limited physical activities are required. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. Regular contact with city/school employees is required.

Employee typically works indoors in a heat and cold controlled environment. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate office noise. Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board Policy on evaluation of personnel.

 

SALARY: 

 

Commensurate with experience.

 

WORKDAY: 

 

Full time/ 12 month/ 260 Days/ 8 hours per day
