Long-term substitute teachers should hold, or be eligible for, a Virginia teaching license.

Substitutes who hold a Virginia teaching license and four-year college degree and are paid $100.00 per day.  Long-term substitutes who work more than 20 consecutive days in the same assignment are eligible for a pay adjustment based on the daily equivalent of Step 1 of the teacher salary scale.
